MMA betting tips: UFC Fight Night preview, and the best bets

By JamesNavarro

Will Dean recommends a double favourites at UFC Vegas 55 after another successful week.

Holm it!

HOLLY HOLM is a remarkable fighter who has won world titles in boxing and MMA. Her headkick knockout win over Ronda Rousey in 2015 remains one of the most memorable moments in the sport. She was also inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame this year for her pugilist achievements.

Holm is still improving as a fighter, which is remarkable. The Preacher’s Daughter has improved her boxing skills and added a strong kick offense. This makes her a formidable opponent.

Brazil’s Ketlen Veira will be solving Saturday night’s puzzle, but her skillset is no threat to the favourite. Holm’s best work is on the mat. However, Holm has been able to show incredible takedown defense in the UFC so that she has spent only five of her 205 minutes in the bottom position.

Holm should be able to maintain the fight, and she will have the striking power to win rounds.

Holm is currently a 4/9 favorite. Holm is the more confident half of a double, with no attractive prop bets to place.

Morales support

Venezuela’s OMAR MORALES, a well-rounded fighter who combines technical striking and impressive endurance, is another example. The 36-year old has never been knocked out during his 13-fight career. He demands that his opponents have good cardio if they want to be victorious in a fifteen-minute fight.

Uros Medic, Morales’ opponent in the fight, has never been in any fight lasting more than seven minutes in his professional life. Fans have been impressed by the Serbian’s ability to stop fights early, but these fighters are often unable to sustain such a style for long periods of time. Medic will likely be outgunned by the more durable and experienced fighter against The Venezuelan Fighter.

His liabilities extend beyond cardio. He has also displayed poor grappling defense throughout his career. Morales is a striker, but may choose to follow the path of least resistance and take down his opponent on the mat. He could win his sixth professional submission win.

Morales is the superior fighter in every aspect of martial arts, except for round one. The fight should be won by the Venezuelan if he can survive the chaos and secure a takedown that nullifies his opponent.

There are many other favorites at a similar price but none that have a stylistic advantage above their opponents like HOLM or MORALES. Therefore, backing them both to win at 7/5
